Our Funded Partners

Alongside the BMC, ABC and Mountain Training, NICAS receives funding from Sport England, and we work together with these key partners to strengthen climbing participation and development across the UK and Ireland. Through these partnerships, we support climbers at all levels, from grassroots participation to advanced skills development, fostering a more inclusive and thriving climbing community.

Sport England is a government-funded organisation dedicated to increasing participation in sport and physical activity across England. It supports grassroots initiatives, invests in facilities and programmes, and works to make sport accessible to people of all backgrounds and abilities. NICAS has partnered with Sport England to expand access to indoor climbing, particularly for young people. This collaboration aims to break down barriers to participation, provide funding and resources for climbing facilities, and promote the sport’s benefits for physical and mental health. By working together, NICAS and Sport England are ensuring that more young people can experience the confidence, resilience and enjoyment that climbing offers.
