NICAS Ascend is a new NICAS product which has been designed for and tried and tested with disabled and neurodivergent climbers. It’s the brainchild of Sarah Jones, a climbing coach with a background in disability sport and teaching. Sarah was inspired by her brother Zac to look into how to adapt climbing opportunities for young people with complex needs. Together with Sarah, we are keen to make the resulting framework available to as many people as possible who could benefit.
We are looking at our rollout plans for NICAS Ascend in conjunction with Access Sport, who are disability and inclusion specialists. We’ll be announcing updates about NICAS Ascend via this page between now and early December, so please bookmark it and watch this space!
In the meantime if you’d like to register an expression of interest in delivering this inclusive scheme, then please do so via the registration link on the Access Sport website.
